![]() I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. They have a connection because of the way they met which makes it all work somehow. ![]() However, I liked this story and though Jonah was very sad about the loss of his fiancé, it didn’t detract from the romance between him and Carson. I usually don’t like it when the Hero or heroine is in love with someone who dies, because then they are either depressed or yearning for someone else and it just seems to muddy the romance. I don’t want to give away more but I liked the romance. I liked the pace of the book and the fact that things were always happening. This book starts out like gangbusters and keeps getting better as it goes. ![]() Nearly a year later they meet again at a club in Kansas. Carson is at the morgue at the time and meets the brothers. The Story: After the murder of Jonah’s fiancé, his brother pulls some strings so he can see the body and say goodbye. He attended medical school and is now doing his surgical residency. Though Jonah is not part of the business, he is completely outside the mafia. His oldest brother Kai is the leader of the Bennett Mafia (the family business) and his other older brother brother Tanner is his right hand man. The Hero(es): Jonah Bennett - The youngest child in the Bennett family. She grew up on a farm in Kansas, but moved to Texas and loves her job.
